or all the air is engulfed by the heat and linger in the case.

The 800D doesn't have the BEST air cooling but you can easily fix the air flow issue by converting all but the top fans into intake.

There's three 180mm fans pulling cold air in, so there's a wall of cold air constantly hammering the components. Worst case scenario, hot air will just linger at the top of the case for about two seconds before being engulfed by more cold air.

Edit: Sorry for the off-topic guys.

Good to know, maybe I'll have to dig up the old iPhone and start tweaking that way just for fun. Hopefully they develop a BlackBerry app for it. Oh well, it's not a big deal, just a nice feature I suppose.

The wait is killing me. I miss overclocking, my E8400 is pretty much maxed out, and my RIIG couldn't sustain high BCLKs. This is the board to fill my void. I'm way overdue for some intense overclocking. I'll be on air, but I'm confident the RIIIE will be stable with low voltages, so my components shouldn't heat up too much.

I suppose the app for iphone and blackberry would be really cool, but realistically you would probably only use it to tweak the motherboard until you are happy with the settings and hardly use it again right?
still an excellent feature to have though

Do you guys think the TIM on the NB and SB are good enough or will you be replacing them? I'm thinking that might be the first thing I do when I get my hands on this board.

It would really depend I think on your situation, and if the NB and SB start getting too hot. If temps are fine, I imagine you should be right If it gets too hot, crank out the high quality TIM and see if it makes a difference!

Either way, we'll have to wait and see!

The VZ review said the chips didn't get hot at all, and there's even the included NB replacement heatsink with an attached fan, so I don't think it'll be a problem.

The reviewer himself is actually here on OCN, he posted twice in the news post about his review. Someone wanna shoot him a PM and see if he can spill any more details?

Howdy,

According to the RC TweakIt software, there were three temps which were MB,IOH,ICH. MB temps was always in the mid 30s, IOH reaching a max of 65 and ICH in the mid 50s. That was under LinX. I'm not sure how that compares to other ASUS boards but they were about the same as my Biostar on which I'm using a Xigmatek Porter and a Thermalright ifx HR-05.

All I've heard about the iphone support is that an app is in development but no news of its release. Hope that helps .

Many thanks for the input, +rep! Temps look pretty decent, depends on the voltage however I guess.

Have you had any further luck/attempts at overclocking it good sir? We're all very eager for some more results!
