I am thinking about picking up this mobo soon since I want more space in between my PCI-e slots. That being said, my PSU only comes with 1 pin modular cable and I want to hook up both power cables. Does anyone think this cable will work for the second 8 pin?

http://www.ultraproducts.com/applica...IN#detailspecs

Any thought appreciated.

This is for the Ultra X3 1000W in my sig, btw.

I am only using one of those EZ-Plugs, both (or even one, for that matter) don't seem to help much unless you're running 3x GTX 4(7/8)0s. But I suppose that cable will work, as long as it has a reasonable length ~6-7" at least, you don't need much longer as your PSU mounts below the board. But that website doesn't list the length.

Looks like that cable would work.

I had a different psu just before this Enermax in my Sig with only one 8 pin mobo power hooked up.

I thought for some strange reason that with two 8 pin mobo cables hooked up, I'd get a better OC with better volts. But that wasn't the case, so If I was you, I'd just stick to one.

Since I have two 8 pins now with my Enermax, I just have both plugged in anyways, can't hurt.

What is everyone doing for the NB on this board? I personally installed the larger heatsink w/ fan but I was wondering what everyone else was doing. Any noticeable temp changes?

Very nice temps Rud3Bwoy, very nice

I idle on air, no NB fan or anything:

ICH 48'C
IOH 52'C

And load:

ICH 54'C
IOH 59'C

With two cards.

A couple days ago I had only one card( 5970 ) in the 3rd slot and my idle temps were 45'C and load like 52'C for the IOH. Now my new 5870 is blocking the SB, NB sinks, thus higher temps

WARNING:

Don't flash your BIOS to the newest 0901 Version. I just helped someone in another forum troubleshoot their board. The XMP setting is not working with this BIOS version and the person had to flash back to 0802. We are using Corsair Dominator GT 1600MHz C7. This could only apply to this memory but it can also affect others. I will try to email ASUS and notify them about it.

Sorry fellas, haven't been keeping up with the thread so I have a few questions, sorry if they've already been asked to death.

-Is the ROG connect app out for the iPhone yet?
-Have there been any advantages in the so-far released BIOS' over the initial release version?
