Video card confusion.

Ok I currently have this Video card, which for some reason has dropped maybe thirty dollars in price since I bought it nearly a year ago: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...&sku=V261-3042

I would like to upgrade to either a 6800 or 6600GT, but I just dont understand how the current card I have is selling for roughly the same price as both the 6800 and 6600GT, any ideas? Suggestions on the card choice is always greatly appreciated and any advice.
here are the cards I am looking at up grading to: price range 200$

6600 GT: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...&Sku=P450-8529

6800: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150106

They're about even as far as specs go... I wouldn't bother with it. Either save up for a newer, higher end card or put the money somewhere else. (New games perhaps?)

I am playing EQ2 and the frame rate is pretty bad. I have cable internet and all that good stuff so i thought that a 6800 or 660Gt would help that. So the 9600 is a good graphics card because I thought it was pretty low end compared to either the 6800, or the 6600 GT?

If you're going to upgrade I wouldn't look lower than a 7800GT or a x800XT, since new stuff is coming out Games will be built around these high end cards (x1900XT/X and 7900GTX) and the framerates are only going ot get worse with that card and 6600/6800.

7800GT's go for around $275-$350
X800XT's $230-$300 ($300 being hte All-in-Wonder)

Prices will vary but I really wouldnt look for a 6600/6800 unless you're on a tight budget

Hmmm thats kinda high opriced and I am giving my current card to a friend for her rig so I fuigured that an upgrade would be either of those cards. Unlocking/overclocking one of those wouldnt make that much of an improvemnt then over the current card?

You can unlock a 6800GS, I believe to a GT, or it might be a 6600 I am unsure, or they may both be unlockable

Either way you wont go wrong with either 6600 or 6800 but you wont have to upgrade as soon with a 7800GT or X800XT
