It is possible to have the Ridgeback heat sinks fitted to a different module, but it gets rather pricey as they charge $15-$20 per stick to do it.
And only if they are in a good mood

I was wondering if the Mushkin Redline 996805 6-8-6-24 would work with Asus M4A89GTD Pro/USB3 and AMD Phenom II X6 1055T? Could you give me mor insight, Mushkin Sean?
I am also confused because I didn't see this particular model on the Asus QVL.

EDIT: it stands there *This product is engineered for LGA1156 motherboards. (only?)
The 996805 kit will work on AM3, a number of members here are running them, but you will not get Intel rated timings. Generally you'll get CL6 to about DDR3-1600.

*gg* Intel rated timings?
But 1600MHz and CL6 is pretty impressive. I was only thinking about 1333 6-8-6-24.
Thanks for the answer, Sean!

Sidenote: Those Copperheads look pretty interesting.

Yeah this kit is rated at 6-8-6-24 @ DDR3-1600 on Intel 1156
Most guys on the AMD 890 platform are getting CL6 to about DDR3-1500, hopefully as the BIOS' mature that will improve.

The Copperheads are only available in Europe.

And I am in Europe

Hmm....tweaking RAM seems to be fun.

EDIT: Would the copperheads actually be better? (I know, many questions, but I would be bying the RAM not only for me but also for a friend)

Ah, then you can get the Copperheads from Mushkin Europe
http://shop.mushkin.de/index.php

The Copperheads in theory should run cooler, but it comes down to what you think looks best.

Copper and blue mainboard...or maybe red...I'll need some sleep to decide.

Good night then and once again thanks for the help!
