chatch15117,

If you are passing HCI MemTest for 24 hours without errors, the memory is stable.

Did the new Realtek driver help?

Unfortunately, no the new drivers didn't help. I bought this computer so I could play games, and it freezes in 5 minutes

I'm tired of gaming on my laptop

I'm trying to figure out why my Muskin Enhanced kit #: 998805 will not run at spec.

Every time I push my system I hit a wall at 180 BCLK where my comp dies due to a memory stability issue. I have stock timings set as well as voltage, but the only way I can get around it is to back the frequency down to below 1066MHz memory. I don't get it.

Did you raise the QPI/VTT voltage at all? When pushing memory, you also have to run the Uncore, notably the IMC (Internal Memory Controller), at speeds above stock. With Nehalem, it needs to be at least two times the memory speed. Because your sticks are 1600MHz, the Uncore needs to be at least 3200MHz. Normally, an i7 would do this at stock VTT voltage. However, there's a chance you have a weak IMC on your chip.

Try raising the QPI/VTT to around 1.3V. If that fixes things, drop it until it's the lowest stable voltage.

If the problems pursue, which stop code are you getting with the BSOD?

NCIX sells them online. As I don't live in Canada, I'm not sure if they carry them at their brick and mortar stores. Might be worth a call if you have one near you, though!

lol... I feel like I should stop answering and let Nick and Sean do some work

All you really need to set is the primary timings, 6-8-6-24 1T, the rest of the timings are fine at auto/default.
If you want to play with the subs you can see what we have programmed to the XMP with CPU Tweaker (SPD tab) it gives you a starting point.

At 180 BCLK, you either need to loosen the timings to 7-9-7-24 @ DDR3-1800 or on an Asus mobo you may need to set the TRTP manually to 8.
You definitely need more than default QPI/DRAM voltage.
If you want PM me or email me and I'll help you get going.

You have lots of choices in Canada, NCIX, Newegg.ca, CanadaComputers, Memory Express.

If you want a brick and mortar store, in your area CanadaComputers
post #309 of 486
After a while, I just said screw it, bumped it to 200 BCLK, bumped the QPI voltage a tad, and set the memory at a stock 6-8-6-24 @ 2:8 and it ran; so maybe the range where the memory is iffy expanded?

Hey Mushkin guys! I just registered because I'd like to resolve an issue.

I bought a new AMD system with the Mushkin Silverline 2x2GB RAM kit (Model: 996947) and it is running by default at lower than stock timings and speed.

The current settings on my BIOS are as follows:

DCTs Mode.............................................. ........... Unganged
CAS# Latency........................................... .......... 9T
RAS to CAS R/W Delay.......................................... 9T
Row Precharge Time............................................. 9T
Minimum RAS Active Time...................................... 24T
(Stock timings should be 7-10-10-24)
1T/2T Command Timing......................................... 2T
TwTr Command Delay........................................... 5T
Trfc0 for DIMM1............................................. ..... 110ns
Trfc1 for DIMM3............................................. ..... 110ns
Write Recovery Time............................................ 10T
Precharge Time.............................................. ..... 5T
Row Cycle Time.............................................. ..... 33T
RAS to RAS Delay............................................. ... 4T

Memory Clock............................................. ........ x6.66... 1333MHz
(Stock is 1600MHz)

DRAM Voltage Control.......................................... 1.5V
This is where I'm nervous. My board states 1.65V is "Dangerous", although it is the stock speed :/

Here are the rest of the voltage controls, if they also need to be tweaked with the RAM:
CPU PLL Voltage Control....................................... 2.5V
DDR VTT Voltage Control...................................... 0.75V
NB Voltage Control........................................... ... 1.3V
SidePort Mem Volt Control.................................... 1.6V
NB/PCIe/PLL Voltage Control................................. 1.8V

I'm new to overclocking, so there's probably more info there than you need, but I just wanted to make sure that all I really need to do is just manually change the settings to stock or if some other process is necessary.

Thanks in advance,
Tribble
