I just checked again, and yes I do have the latest BIOS. That was the first thing I thought of when I started having problems. Another thing is that this RAM isn't on the supported memory list for my motherboard, but I have never actually had RAM not work because of that...
I haven't tried 8-8-7-24 @ 1600, in fact almost nothing under 10-10-10-29 works. I did manage to get it to run at ~1550 9-9-9-25 with the HTT at 233 and the multiplier at 6.67
I am going to mess with this some more when I have time, and if I can't figure it out I am going to try my friend's older 1.85v 7-7-7-20 kit (996657 IIRC) to see if it works better.
Either way, thanks for the help and I will be sure to let you know what my results are!
We have one of those boards in the lab, one of the engineers is going to try it and see what he can achieve with those sticks. It may be that the BIOS is too far out of date for the 996825 kit to work at anything decent.
I'll let you know what his results are though.
The 996657 kit should work well on that mobo.
Question Sean, why does my Callisto always say "SMART Command Failed" on ACHI BIOS Bootup? It's not bothered me enough to try to fix it, but just wondered.
The Gigabytes Intel mobos had an issue with the Sandforce controller, I believe all of the mobos have been fixed with BIOS updates.

The 340 fw also fixed a lot of the SMART errors, so make sure you have the latest fw.
