PGN is a reputable seller, they are just not a well know as Newegg.

Not sure when Newegg is going to have more, got to track down the salesman.
You can order them direct if you are more comfortable with that.

The 996657 kit is the best for that mobo if you can find it.
I've never had any trouble using a low voltage kit like the 996746 om my P5E3 Premium.

hey MushkinSean,
thanks for selling me some awesome Mushkin Redline 1600 MHz 6-7-6-18-1t@1.6v not too long ago.
you don't happen to have any more of those modules by any chance, do you?
anyways, Kudos to you and your crew!

hey by the way: what's the best DDR3 memory currently out there for 3D Rendering, Digital Content Creation, Video Encoding, etc..
Let's say we have an i7 980x (OC), Rampage III Extreme system. Would it be better to go with:
6 x 2 GB of PC3-12800 or
6 x 2 GB of PC3-16000?

would the higher bandwidth be of any benefit?
I would like to keep the latencies as low as possible.

The 998691 kits are all gone and I doubt there will be anymore as the ICs are EOL.

The best bet for you would be the 998805 kit.

Although DDR3-2000 is more likely with the 980X because you can set the Uncore to 1.5X the memory speed instead of 2X, you still don't get that much more performance over DDR3-1600.
12GB of memory at CL6 and DDR3-1600 is more than enough bandwidth for that system

would

Brand Mushkin Enhanced
Series Redline
Model 998805
Type 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM

work with two kits, a total of 12 gigs of ram, on a Rampage III Extreme X58 board?

Sean,

Would those same six 998805s fit on a Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R?

I've currently ordered just one 3x2gb set, but I'm trying to consider future expandability (faster processor, second 5850, second set of redlines). I didn't take in to account how substantial these beauties are.

Thanks in advance!
