Mushkin Enhanced Support - Page 9

Hey

Just wondering if you have any idea if/when Mushkin RAM is going to be become more available in Europe, particularly in the UK. It's pretty much impossible to find over here

Sales is working on getting a reseller in the UK, hopefully Mushkin will be available to you guys soon.

One thing that could really help is if you guys could keep pestering your resellers in the UK to pick up our product line.

I have a ASUS P5E3 Deluxe/WiFi-AP LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard with a Q6600, i currently have it O.C at 3.01ghz, but i noticed that my windows will act funny at times, it will freeze up when booting or just freeze time to time when i'm using it, so i wanted to upgrade my ram....i was thinking of getting ethier Mushkin Enhanced Ridgeback 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000) Desktop Memory Model 996902 OR Mushkin Enhanced Ridgeback 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model 996826

these are the links to my motherboard and the 2 rams i was looking at:

Thanks for the info. So are you saying any of those I listed will work well? And you made another specific recommendation. An all in the other link you posted as well, I assume? Seems I have a few options. I was worried when I read about P45 boards being finicky with DDR3.

BTW, I too like the look of the Ridgebacks.

With your mobo and CPU go for the 996826 Ridgebacks.
The other kit (996902) will work, but it will be very difficult to get to DDR3-2000 with a Q6600, you would need a FSB frequency of 500 to do it. That is very difficult to achieve with a Q6600.

Any of those kits you listed will work, but I would suggest the Ridgebacks for their overclocking potential or the 996782 kit for it's overclocking potential and lower price.

The only thing is if you view my mobo specs, it says "Memory Standard DDR3 1800(O.C.)/1600(O.C.)/1333/1066/800 MHz ", i was thinking that the 996826 would actully preform still at 2000mhz, or should i just stick with the 996902 in order to achieve the mhz that was listed (1600) ?

i wanna wait it out and see if i can get them on sale, but i feel like it would take about 2 months before the price drops

The mobo is capable of those speeds, but the CPU is not.
The highest memory multiplier for X38/X48 is 1:2

Stick to the DDR3-1600 memory.
yea, but i noticed most ram usually don't match the speed they say, hopefully i heard really good reviews of mushkin, just plug and play and no tweaking invovled, but what i'm wondering now is that if i get it and my q6600 is O.C to 3.01 ghz then will i still have to tweak the bios or will it just be the "plug and play"

btw i'm a newbie to overclocking, i just end up doing trail and error

but then again i guess thats why i need to reboot my pc every other time when windows is starting booting up because it gets locked up.

i have yet to test it to see if it locks up the system when i run a game on it.
