I'm @ 3800 DPI when in Windows. My Window's pointer speed is at the middle mark and without pointer precision selected. I'm @ 5600 DPI while gaming. I just fine tune by adjusting the mouse sensitivity in-game.

Very nice!! I've been in Atlanta for 19 years and love it. I've transitioned from Roswell, to Dunwoody, to Buckhead, to Lilburn, and then to Toco Hills. I'm planning on moving back to Buckhead since the home prices are insanely low right now.

So I'm looking to replace my aging Logitech LX700 keyboard/mouse combo...

I just got a Logitech G110 Gaming Keyboard, and now I'm looking for a new Mouse to go with it; and this CM Storm Sentinel Advance has caught my attention!

But I have a few questions for those of you experienced with this Mouse!

First off, I don't have a mouse pad. Haven't used one for years, haven't needed to use one. My LX700 mouse works just great right on my desk surface; which is sort of a dark textured laminate surface. Where I use my mouse the most though, some of the laminate has worn off and there's the rough wood surface. I was told that rough surfaces work best for Optical and Laser based mice...

So, does a mouse pad really make such a huge difference on this particular mouse?

Second... I noticed the surfaces on this mouse are very smooth. Such smooth mice tend to get really ugly, really quick.. due to the whole 'sweaty palms' problem... any of you guys had this problem with this Mouse? I've been using my LX700 for about 7 years and its still looking almost brand new! The Mouse I had before that, a wireless Logitech Mouse Man (which today remains the most comfortable ergonomic mouse I'v ever used) got really ugly, really fast... grimy rings around where my thumb and pink rested; and a crusty grimy coating over the buttons and palm area... suffice to say, I don't use that mouse anymore but its still sitting in a drawer for when I need a spare mouse...

So, how well does this mouse hold up with sweaty hands?

Thirdly, it seems the only places I have found thus far that sells these, is either Newegg or the CM Store. Are there other notable retailers out there that stock these? I have two Microcenter's near me but they don't stock these, so I can't go and look at one.

Also, I am on a budget for what I can get. A friend got himself the Mamba recently and sings its praises but thats quite a bit out of my price range.

I am looking at, this mouse, as well as the Logitech G500. I am also considering saving a bit more and looking at the newer Logitech G700.

But, this one has caught my attention more because I like its lights! It will be an interesting match with my G110 Keyboard which has back-illuminated keys with selectable colors. With my black Storm Scout case, and its Red LED Fans; I'm thinking a nice black and red color scheme would look rather good for my G110 and this Mouse...

But, I am wanting some serious comparisons between this mouse, and the G500.

Lastly. I have noticed this Mouse popping up on the CM Store, as a Refurb, for a decent discount. Would any of you recommend a factory Refurbished CM Storm Sentinel Advance, for someone on a budget, or just invest in a new off the shelf model?

Thanks in advance for any responses!

The sides and back end have a hard plastic/rubber feel and the top area where the buttons are is just regular plastic.
