Fed up wtih AMD

Thread Starter
I have posted so many times on this, and i still either get nowhere, or get somewhere very slowly.

I have this 1600+ Athlon (soon to become a 2400+ tbred since im getting angry,) and no matter what i do, it is always overheating!

I have taken off the stock cooling, replaced it with a considereably larger 'coolermaster' HS+F, put this thing to stock VCore (1.75V), Dropped the VCore lower, down to 1.6V, Underclocked the thing, and applied and RE-Applied AS5 several times. All of this, as well as side panel off, and a desk fan on it, and i am idling 51C, and hvy loading at about 58/59C. i Have seen other procs ruun on STOCK cooling WAY lower than this...Is it just cause it is a TBIRD?
I think the poiont is clear. My question is...***!!???

On the side, i am thinking of getting a 2400 XP TBred cause ive heard that they dont overheat for the world. My friend has a 2000+XP, adn in his crappy case, with one fan and stock cooling, hes loading at 51C...Seeing this does not make me happy...Just depressed. Will this 2400+ get me somewhere???

And finally, why is this damn hting running so hot. If these things are made for people such as grannies to use, withstock cooling...Why ive heard of people using these and hitting 70C!. is it just they are SUPPOSED to take a battering like that!???

hit me back

Cheers
Wookie (frusterated)

Ive had a 2100+ and it overheated no matter what. 1800 mobile has been pretty hot considering its under a thermalright SI-97(load 50c oced to 1.8) Sempron 2200+ has been folding under 50C . All I can say is athlons run hot .

Well another reason for higher temps even if you have replaced the HSF would be that high v-core you were running.

Could be my mistake here but i swear thats a high v-core...maybe its a high v-core in intel terms thats where issues could be getting confused.

Are you nuts? athlons run cooler, but mostly just the newer ones. Your using an (how do i phrase this) way outdated processor. its going to run like an intel hot but not to hot.

I think you are. The stock VCore of this baby should have been 1.75Volts, but it was running at about 1.8V when i out the jumpers on default, so i had to manually set it down. Weird. Power hungery little bastard...
Compared to Recent Intels, who run on like 1.4/1.5V...Oh well.

On this note, i thought 1.75V was high too, so i shoved it down to 1.6V, and i wasnt experienceing instability, but i was still getting a whole lot of heat...Dunno, mayb computers just dont like me.
