Gran Turismo 4 help

Alright, seeing as it's been out for nearly a year (got it a week after it came out) and I'm still having trouble beating the game, I figured I would ask how people have gotten through this one part. I've currently got all of the licenses, and my top fastest cars are a fully upraded Suzuki Escudo, a fully upgraded CLK-GTR race car, and I probabably have one or two others that I can't remember. I'm thinking of going to beat some more endurance races so I can get the Toyota 88CV race car. However, the problem is that I have never been able to beat the Gran Turismo World Championship. I have another game where I've got the 88CV along with a fully upgraded SLR-Mclaren which will do 260+. even with those cars I have never been able to beat the championship. With the 88CV I was able to complete most of the races in first or second, but there were too many on which I crashed and was never able to recover. I don't have the time or the will to do the 24 hour Nurburgring endurance and win the Formula Gran Turismo, so that is ruled out. Anybody have any hints/tips/car ideas/settings for winning this race?

If you got all the licenses then you must be really good and I can't help you. All I could say is keep trying, maybe changing up the cars, also always pick the best tires depending on the course. The clk touring car is fast and sticks to the road like crazy, I have a bunch of the supercars but the maxed out viper seems to be one of the fastest if you have a course with a lot of straights.

I was really suprised at the buick special, it went over 200mph completely stock.

the world cup? like the one you neeed to do to go to professional races? the one with 10 races? **** I HATE THAT

i could not beat it AT ALL

i got so mad i sold it and got socom 3

hint: one thing that made it easier is get racing SOFT tires. if you get hard tires for that series they are all like insane cars that beat u by like 3 laps

for some reason when u get soft tires the cars are really easy, except for the fact that they all have hard tires! either way its effin impossible

Well, it's not impossible as there are people who got to the extreme hall and completed the game. Admittedly, they all got the Formula Gran Turismo from the Nurburgring 24H endurance race. I beat El Capitan 200 Miles and got an 88CV for my current game. Didn't touch anything except for buying super-hard racing slicks and nox. Without adjusting any settings I was able to do 237 on the straightway in Circuit de la Sarthe II (a.k.a. the 1970's version of Le Mans. Actually went to Le Mans when I was two and living in France. Have a picture of my dad's BMW 3-series diesel wagon next to a sign on the course.). Then I tested it in the first race of GT World Championship and beat out a Nissan R92CP, a Pescarolo C60, a Mercedes CLK-GTR, a Chapparal 2D, and a Camaro LM Race Car. I've gotten all the way to race six in first place before, but I just got shafted after that.

Why would you guys get super HARD tires? You do know that the softer they are, the grippier they are right? Also, have you thought of doing the endurance races in B Spec mode? lol.

I get super hard tires because they last forever. I can do ten or twelve laps on Tokyo R246 in my 88CV and even my Escudo before I need to pit. I tried to do the Nurburgring 24H in B-Spec, but I gave up three real hours in because I missed a bunch of pits and my driver was making stupid errors.

Just set it to '3' and leave for a few hours, lol! every hour or so come back and tell him to pit, works fine for me Be sure to fast forward it at 3x speed too.

To Remonster:
You've actually beaten Nurburgring 24H?

To Everyone Else:
Well, I just beat the GT world championships. Then I went and beat the like the wind race. To beat that I just slapped a stage 4 turbo and tweaked my gears. 88CV got to 255 before I needed the nox. Redline was at 261.
