depends on what he is talking about. True real world performance gains are negligible, espicailly with GPU's. its pretty much something you do, just to do. if you look at anything from a certian veiw point, its all pointless. And like many said, its all HOW you OC your stuff.

I love people are saying it doesn't make items run hotter. It DOES! That's why you need better cooling. Heat is the number one enemy of overclocking limitations. Although, yes, overclocking is very useful. The most in video cards where the basic card and the cream of the crop card in a series, are the same card with different BIOS and a few resistors and a better cooler. Most processor are meant to work for about 10 years before wearing out. Air over clocking your looking at around 5-6 years instead and by then your computer will be ancient tech.
