Aaaah OK. I'm always cunfounded when people say "I don't understand why my RAM is unstable it passed Memtest with no errors for like 12 hours". *facedesk*

I once used memtest as a quick and dirty way to test ram overclocks. I got it up to something like 1000 with 4-4-4-12 timings, memtest stable for about 10 passes. Ok, so I'm good to go right? LOL, failed prime blend after a few minutes.

Back to the drawing board...lol

Which means, you got more tweaking to do.

i installed two of the dark knights. one is on my e6300 conroe at 3.5Ghz, idles between 30-36c. in case ambient is 29-30c and outside of case ambient temp is 24c=75F.

now on my e8400 which i will be overclocking too has it as well and idle temps are around 35c +/- 2c. core 1 is stuck but ohwell. hwmonitor reports cpu temp at 28 idle while core 0 is around 35 and core 1 at 42 (stuck).

has anyone noticed their dark knights have nicks on the contact area? both of the coolers i ordered brand new and they each had some scratching or dents. i know they do have some spaces between the heat pipes but the protrusions scratched both of my cpus.

add me to the list tho

manooti, welcome to the club! I will add you to the list. Very nice. As far as I know, my DK are very flat. I am sorry it scratched your CPU. Did you try contacting Xigmatek about it? Perhaps for a replacement?

Not bad Dilyn! How much was it overclocked? How long did you stress test it? Good luck!

i doubt that theyll do anything about it. even if they do its not really worth saying anything because they are already installed and temps are good especially on the e6300 with the 3.4ghz overclock. 3,430 but whos counting lol

the e8400 has crappy case cooling on the thermaltake armor+, need more fans with perty lights lol. im pretty positive if i install 2 120s on the bottom sucking in, a 120 for exhaust out back and another 120 blowing out up top i can bring this puppy to high 20's at idle.

to be more descriptive tho the scratches that were left on cpu are very noticeable. when i went over with qtip to clean and polish the cotton gets stuck on it and u can feel the scratch. kinda sucks, i feel like my baby was hit in the face with a crowbar

Damn...but yeah, that e8400 is very impressive on 20's at idle! But I am guessing it isn't overclocked no?

Oh and I added your name to the club member list.

You can remove me, I've upgraded to an H50. Best Buy sale was hard to pass up and I finally had the chance to get it.

Xiggy Dark Knight lasted a long 1 year and 2 months for me! Still a great cooler!
