OC nF3 250gb UT-->HELP !!! - Page 2

post #11 of 36
Thread Starter
I've just OC my

CPU (Athlon 64 3200+ NewCastle) stock 2.2GH
PC3200 2x512MB Corsair XMS (3-3-3-8-12-16)
PSU : eXtreme Power 380W Dual CoolerMaster

the OC detail is

1/ FSB:220MHz
LDT/FSB : x3 ---->HTT = 220x3x2 =1320MHz
CPU/FSB: x10---->CPU : 2.2GHz
DDR/FSB : 9/10 ----> DDR: 200MHz
CAS latency ( 2.5-3-3-7-11-16) CPU-Z

CPU temp from 49-51 in the beggining then 42-45 at the end of OCCT test

This system passed the OCCT Stability TEST

IS this the best OC I can have ???

...before this, I OC like this

2/ FSB:215MHz
LDT/FSB : x4 ---->HTT = 215x4x2 =1720MHz
CPU/FSB: x11---->CPU : 2.36GHz
DDR/FSB : 1/1 ----> DDR: 215MHz
CAS latency ( 3-3-3-8-12-16) (same as stock )CPU-Z

But..I didn't test the Stability by OCCT.... !!!

I'm using the number 1 (FSB:220)

THEN... I have few questions ....

Why the CAS latency of RAM didn't change when FSB at 215MHz. When I set FSB to 220 MHz , the CAS automatically changed (although I kept it at "AUTO" ) ???

I wonder which is better (1 or 2) ??? or can I OC more ???

When I keep using the (numer 1) is it good for my CPU and RAM ?

When the HTT down to 1320MHz, does it effect to the speed of my com. ?

My CPU has stock speed @ 2.2 GHz. When I OC like (number 1) does CPU run faster ??? is the CAS latency important ??

Thanks for answer

Ok, first determine what chips your Corsair XMS uses.
Look on the sticker on the heatspreaders and look up the suffix (C2, XL, LL, etc.) and the revision number.

-XMS-PC3200C2 Rev1.0 (2-3-3-6-1T) --chip--> Winbond CH-5
-XMS-PC3200C2 Rev1.1/2.1 (2-3-3-6-1T) --chip--> Winbond BH-6
-XMS-PC3200C2 Rev1.2/2.2 (2-3-3-6-1T) --chip--> Winbond CH-6
-XMS-PC3200C2 Rev1.3 (2-2-2-5-1T) --chip--> Winbond UTT ?
-XMS-PC3200C2 Rev1.4 (2-2-2-5-1T) --chip--> Mosel Vitelic 5ns ~ Brainpower PCB
-XMS-PC3200C2 Rev1.5 (2-2-2-5-1T) --chip--> Winbond New BH-5 ~ Brainpower PCB
-XMS-PC3200C2 Rev1.6 (2-2-2-5-1T) --chip--> Winbond UTT ~ Brainpower PCB
-XMS-PC3200C2 Rev1.7 (2-2-2-5-1T) --chip--> Winbond New BH-5\\UTT ~ Brainpower PCB ?
-XMS-PC3200C2 Rev3.1 (2-3-3-6-1T) --chip--> Infineon B-5
-XMS-PC3200C2 Rev4.1 (2-3-3-6-1T) --chip--> Samsung TCCD
-XMS-PC3200C2 Rev4.2 (2-3-3-6-1T) --chip--> Samsung TCCD & TCC5
-XMS-PC3200C2 Rev4.3 (2-3-3-6-1T) --chip--> Samsung TCCD & TCC5 (Rev. F) ~ Brainpower PCB
-XMS-PC3200C2 Rev5.1/6.1 (2-3-3-6-1T) --chip--> Mosel Vitelic 5ns
-XMS-PC3200LL Rev1.1/2.1 (2-2-2-6-1T) --chip--> Winbond BH-5
-XMS-PC3200LL Rev1.2/2.2 (2-3-2-6-1T) --chip--> Winbond CH-5
-XMS-PC3200LL Rev3.1 (2-3-2-6-1T) --chip--> Infineon B-5
-XMS-PC3200XL/XLPT Rev1.1 (2-2-2-5-1T) --chip--> Samsung TCCD
-XMS-PC3200XL/XLPT Rev1.2 (2-2-2-5-1T) --chip--> Samsung TCCD ~ Brainpower PCB

Then tell us what chip type you have and how to proceed from there.

Your Cpu-z memory screen shot says your running 512mb ram, I dont know if thats brand new but if it is you might wanna read your manual and get your motherboard to detect that second stick.

Set your divider to 166 that will give you soome room then put your ram at fsb 250, ht at 3x, vcore at 1.6 ram at 2.65 or 2.7 and see if it posts that should give you atleast 2.5ghz
