BFG 6800GS AGP Problems...

Hi,

I just bought a 6800GS Yesterday, hoping to install it, and use it right away at the lan party I was attending then...Unfortunately I ran into loads of problems. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had problems like the ones I am about to explain, and if you did can you help me solve mine...

Oh and, I called/e-mailed BFG Tech Support, and I was left on hold for over 2 hours and they haven't replied to my e-mail yet....

I took out my old card, put in my new one. Started windows, it recognized a BFG 6800GS, installed windows drivers, and then when it was almost done the installation the screen turns black, and the computer restarts.

SO I reboot, cancel the windows drivers installation, and install the drivers included on the CD. THey have the same affect as before.

This is what confuses me the most, I then download the latest Stable NVIDIA Drivers (Version 81.98) and before the installation can start, it says I don't have any Nvidia hardware on my computer .

I also try the Beta nvidia drivers (version 82.12) and they black screen like the windows drivers.

And I have also tried uninstalling then reinstalling drivers, doing it in Safe Mode, updating my motherboard drivers, chipset drivers, etc..etc..

If anyone has any ideas, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

James

PS. (The only thing I have yet to try is reformatting my windows partition, which I am going to try later tonight after I backup my files)

Um... run everything at stock speeds, and then try installing the drivers.
edit: the beta 82 drivers are the only drivers that support the 6800GS, I now know that for sure, flash the card BIOS to a BFG 6800GT, and that should fix all that.

How can I do that? RivaTuner or something? Its a BFG Card, so it comes OCed. Should I clock it down, and try the beta drivers again?
