Metro 2033 Micro Stutter?

In some area's of the game i can be walking and all object around me just stutter and skip as a move around. Some bits of the game are fine and some bits of the game just micro stutter like hell. I have lowered graphics all way down yet the issue is still there. Any idea's?

I got a bit of this. I think its just the engine. Not much you can do about it I'm afraid.

It's not micro-stutter. That only happens with multi-gpu setups. Sounds like just plain stutter.

Do you have FRAPS running?

Are your frames dipping down at these times?

When you say you've lowered all the settings, what exactly are we talking about? How low? Do you have advanced phys-x turned on by chance? If so, turn it off.

I have a theory that says that this game requires a LOT of cpu power in some parts ... sometimes I get some severe frame dips even though my gpus are only running in the 70% range ... which indicates cpu-bottlenecking in a lot of cases...

Advanced Physics is turned off within the game settings. Frames are high within every area of the game. It is the exact same stutter just like fallout 3 and farcry 2. I lowered everything all way down to medium to see if that helped and it did not.

I had a time where I was getting really odd skipping in metro with around 35-40 FPS. It didnt look right at all, it's probably the game.

'Microstutter' is kinda like the term 'sex'. By definition, both involve more than one of something. You can have it by yourself, but when you do ... it's called something different
