Also, its 1.5 original, untouched unupdated and in near mint condition, I never play with it and its been sitting in storage. Think I should sell it to someone who values this and buy a newer one?
Ok, first things first, what format are the videos. Second, if you've got firmware 1.5, it's easy beans to install at least 5.00 custom firmware. You'll get a lot more options with media files on it after that.
But you should still be able to watch videos on a 1.5. Just tell me what format the vids are and we'll take it from there

There are some emulators that don't work very well with stock clock speeds on the psp. Theres preset clock frequencies on certain emulators. 222mhz and 333mhz. 222mhz is stock, while you can boost up to 333mhz for certain applications which require it

I got vids in many formats, avi, 3gp, and even .MOV, but the ones I am putting on the PSP are .mp4. Some I "acquired" already stating they were in Ipod/psp format. I know where to put them too, in the root directory in a new folder, its properly named, I just can remember it now

I was hoping to keep with 1.5 now and not alter it. It has some value to people. Is there any issue with maximum size or vid and/or mem card in 1.5?

I'm In. Gone through quite a bit, my favorite, psp 1k hacked using gta lcs exploit.

Currently have a 3k jak and daxter with 16gb memory (2x8gb micro sdhc in photofast 5300)

to play videos - they need to be in mp4 format

failsafe-psp video converter 9

harder - more accurate - more control - super video converter

Theres certain videos you place in certain directories and certain videos you can place in the 'videos' folder which you create in the root directory. Some vids you gotta rename too.
Anyway, I don't see any limitation with fw1.5

Nice, I remember how I was saving up to buy lcs just to hack mine back in the day (fw 2.6) but ended up getting an original 1.5 from Japan. Kept both for a while, sold the 2.6 eventually.

If a movie doesn't work rename to MAQ00041.MP4 and put it in the MP_ROOT>101ANV01 folder

And if it still won't work after that, then rename it to M4V00001.MP4 and put it in the MP_ROOT>100MNV01 folder.

That took some hunting, but there you go. Most videos however work if you put em in a folder named 'Video' in the root directory. The steps given above are only if this doesn't happen.
Good luck
