im trying to get into that using Rhino.... could anyone give me a good resource site or other software id be interested in?

Umm...exactly what do you plan to modle? What would you use it for? If you want super easy, parts maker thingy, I would highly suggest this!
Oh, and I suggest you take those tutorials that they give you. Take all three.

3D Max is pretty much state of the art--you can try a full function (no save) demo (krunk)

That's awesome, I use Rhino all the time. What version do you have? I use 3.0, it takes a lot of getting used to, not like Inventor which is super easy. I would look at Inventor 10 for a really good 3d solid modeling program, it doesn't use NURBS like Rhino does. But as for resources, there really aren't any for Rhino. Try playing with it, use some of the tutorials if you have any, it takes time to learn it.

Im a huge fan of Blender - http://blender.org ... free and powerful

as for pay programs, I say check out 3D Studio Max, Cinema 4D, LightWave and Maya

maya 7 is great and there a few online tutorials or you can buy offical tutorial cd's which are very good
