I'm not liking how hot it will run. I thought it was supposed to be less hot than that. I guess not. That is bad. Btw, is the 1 year warranty really true or was it just a rumour?
So is it just me or does it seem that (on paper at least) the product has conceded to much of the speculation? I truly like both product offerings from both camps but I have to say green really didn't do well this time around.
# 250w ... Wow. Way too much power for such low clocks and memory bandwidth.
# 600/700 Core ... Really. Isn't it time for the threshold to be pushed yet? OC sure, but on top of 250w.. not to mention SLI options...
That's just my opinion! I'm currently sporting a GTX260(216) too and I doubt this would be the upgrade path for me. I'll either wait for end-of-year releases or titles or just buy a cheap 260 and sli on my Xfire board! Or buy a 5870 if the price ever comes down!
Should be very interesting to see what tonight at PAX brings! I'd love to read a paper launch for fermi, being the first exception on the rule that I hate paper launches. As for heat yes, its an issue, and I suspect availability will further be hindered by the fact retailers/disributors need to come up with their own custom coolers for the thing to even stay below 90c.
All your other threads regarding the Fermi release and whatnot, would you object to me merging said threads?
