Open1Your1Eyes0's GTX470/GTX480 Information Thread - Page 5

Seems kind of spotty to me. In many game tests I saw, the GTX 480 appears to trade blows with the 5970 let alone beat the 5870. Yet in others the 5870 shows its stuff and comes close to the 480. I'm thinking drivers might be an issue in a few games for the GTX 470/480.

As an enthusiast I appreciate the speed and the architecture improvements but not at the incredible cost of power and temperature. It's way off-balance in my opinion.

EDIT: Hopefully the latter-year-end releases will be updated, much like with the 216-core, and will enable much better cooling and lower power consumption.

Thread Starter
Due to the immense amount of information and reviews that have been released I will be taking a few days to collect all the appropriate info and will return within a week to create a new thread with a massive collection of information and reviews, everything about the NVIDIA GTX270 and GTX480 video cards. Thank you to all that have supported me in my findings and I will be sure to let everyone know once the new thread is up and stickied.

I just want to know how the new 5850/5870 with 2 gb stacks up, since they're about the same prices.

I just ordered Palit GTX 470, and it has 2 year warranty.

I would agree. Based on this information I suggest that we CLOSE this thread and de-sticky it, awaiting until we have a more calm sense of mind around this as well as the ability to make everything nice, accurate, and organized without causing mayhem for ourselves .
