New processor options

Thread Starter
I am getting an ASUS P5WD2-E Premium (975X)

I am also getting a new processor, these are my options:

P4 570 Prescott ES 3.8Ghz 1mb L2 $350

P4 661 Cedar Mill 3.6Ghz 2mb L2 65nm $459

P D Presler 930 or 940 3.0/3.2Ghz 65nm Dual Core $340-440

What do you guys think. I don't know much about Cedar Mill, but I am assuming it is just the 65nm version of Prescott...

To go AMD would mean a complete rebuild. It is OUT of the question. I am sticking to Intel, and most likely one of those processors, or another 975X compatable processor.

Stick with intel, heck by the end of the year, all you amd boyz will be comming to the dark side

If you don't mind spending the extra dough to get the CM processor, Get it! They are having crazy OCes with that processor... Expecially with your chipset, the asus 975x! Yes, the CM core is like a 660 Processor, except with 65nm tech and runs a lot cooler. (less watt consumption)

Looks like I will go with the Cedar Mill.... as I agree with Wowza

They made a quiet apperance:

661 $460
http://www.excaliberpc.com/Intel_Pen...id-562858.html

I will probably get the 651 or 641 as they are a LOT cheaper 641 is only $240...
