i don't know which is a bigger fail atm; this or the camcorder hdmi on the fermi's...
My cards do this 'ulps' thing you speak of, and it's not crappy or buggy at all. It works perfectly, and I love it. It's Afterburner that has issues with it.

In fact Afterburner basically sucks for crossfire rigs, imho. The bugs are there, not with ATI.

Hmmm. I had not heard this, but I suppose that anything's possible.

it's actually a major problem which ATi has chosen not to address, as it has affected many crossfire setups for several months or more.

they've also been contacted by many loyal customers, and one of the common responses they get is; 'it is in fact working properly - it's just that the overdrive feature in ccc see's them both as one card now' which is a complete fallacy.

the problem is that the second card cannot be controlled any longer from the software & drivers that they develop, and eventually it ceases to do anything at all.

Yeah, I'm glad I fixed it. I was about ready to go get a new motherboard this morning to test it out and it wouldn't have made a bit of difference... now I have an apparent leak in my water cooling setup which I need to address although I cannot find it.

Can someone tell me why when I disable Crossfire X in Catalyst, my window experience rating actually increase to 7.9 (the highest rating within Windows 7). When it is enabled it rates at 7.8???

I know this is a old thread, bear with me.

I found multiple ulps registry entries. I found that disabling the common 3 that are usually mentioned on several forums (HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0000 0001 0003) on my older gaming rig (MSI 790FX-GD70, triple MSI 5870 in CF mode) improved performance and killed the issue I was having.

Currently I have a ASUS Crosshair IV Extreme, AMD 8150 CPU, 16gb G.Skill Sniper 1600 ram & Dual Sapphire 7970 6gb ghz edition in CF mode. I'm having the same issue as with my older rig had in the beginning. I remembered the ulps reg tweak but cant remember if I change them all to 0 or just the one in afore mentioned reg string.

To sum it up, I want to do the ulps reg tweak. I have found not only the ones listed in reg string HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0000 00010003 but also a few more listed else where. Do I disable them all?
