fastest computer i've ever had

Thread Starter
i just got the rest of the parts in my sig rig last night. WOOOW this thing is elite! No doubt the fastest computer i have ever owned. TF2 @ 195 FPS. Uningine Heaven Benchmark II @ 50fps all high in DX10. Just got to get my HAF 922 FTW!

If you have seen a 680i in person, you know that that northbridge fan is Hella LOUD. so i modded it to run off 5v from USB. ran at 40c when the fan was 5000+ RPM. now its at 2000 RPM and 44c idle.

Specs:
EVGA GeForce 9800GTX+ Superclocked
4 x 1GB Crucial Balistix Memory
EVGA Nforce 680i SLI Mainboard
Core 2 e4400 @ 3.5Ghz
Toppower 500w Modular PSU
Some random case untill i get my HAF 922
2 x 500GB WD Caviar (RAID 0)

don't laugh at my case, i know it sucks. PSU is next on my list.

Nice Rig Bro

Other thoughts:
Please for the good of your rig, Get a new power supply. Its the beating heart of your rig, Don't trust that job to just any company.

Nice rig. We should do a rig progression thread, list your rigs!

My first computer was a 486 which I upgrade (at age 12) to a 486DX/4 100Mhz! It was pimp. I had to upgrade to play Master of Orion II.

Anyway, my first computer that was just mine, not my families too, was an Athlon 1.3Ghz, Geforce 2 Pro, 256MB of DDR266 w/a Sound Blaster Live!. I thought I was balling! W/a 19" CRT 1600x1200.

I kind of took a break from computers for several years, eventually upgraded that to 768mb of ram and a 7800GS.

Realized I needed more (GF broke up with me and I had to fill the void) so I bought an e8400, 8800 GTS 512, 4gb Corsair Dominator, 750gb Seagate drive, Antec Sonata III case w/500watt Earthwatts psu. It was a huge step up, comparable to your rig, and I was very excited to have it. It is also the first rig I overclocked.

Now I have my best machine ever, I got a great case, a decent board and chip, great sound card, good video card, did good cable management. I still have some things to add to my sig rig, like a Blu-ray drive, fan controller with touch LCD, and a new video card eventually, but it feels really good to put together an awesome computer.

Congrats man!

Very nice little rig you have! I loved my 9800GTX, it was a great card. I forgot how huge the Tuniq Tower is. Clean on the inside too, nice management!
