New 1156 Build - Page 2

Thread Starter
Well MOST of the stuff comes tomorrow...pics and a running log on intial install will get post tomorrow...guess if I am doing pics I better pay attention to my cable management...or get made fun of!

After the build is done I will do some overclocking of course...and will post those results...multiple threads I suppose to keep the video card and overall performance parts in the respective (and correct) places.

Thanks everyone for the good advice on what to watch out for with this build.

Why suggesting H50 while can get Tuniq Tower that have similar power and cheap ^-^

I looked around to find a used 5870 that was around $300...no go yet...I suppose with Fermi out they will start popping up...I can always pick one up in a few weeks. But like I said money is tight right now.
Yea they scale pretty nice but they just don't do it at higher resolutions. But it's cool. Still a very good card. I wasn't talking about bandwidth on the pci-e lanes though(You won't saturate that at all). I was saying the 128bit vs 256 bit bus width the 5770 has vs the 5850 or 5870.

Also please get a mugen 2 instead. I had this for a while and I must say it is really great. Same price on newegg too. In fact it wasn't to far off the megahalem from what I noticed.

Why not stick with stock for now and get a good enough heatsink when you get your next pay cheque?

Its not as if we buy heatsinks everyday, and a good heatsinks can be used on many systems for a long time and max you end up is either getting the socket kits or max getting better fans. Just my 2 cents . Mugen 2 gets my vote too.

very nice build U did there, it just the cooling that seems not quite cool to chill out. I'm taking the moderate OC as OC as other people did. why not take Mugen2 or baram, since they are perform better and the price not much different
