thrashing

i get fairly bad thrashing in quake 4 high 8x6 no AA. latest drivers, updates
?? refresh is desktop 1024x768x32 70Hz does game default to different refresh. i know doom 3 did, i think

Was it stuttering? It shouldn't with those spes. I can run it 1024*768 4xaa w no lag.

it looks more like a rolling glass tube is juttering its way vertically up the screen. its not even really that broken looking, still rather smooth just that weird glitch in it.

anyone else?
i did turn up res to 1024x768 vsync no aa and fps didnt drop or anything but the rolling glitch seemed to still be there
and it only does it when im moving quite a bit

I know what you are talking about, I get it too sometimes, but at high settings 1280x1024 with 2x AA, it only happens when I have the AA on

Bump up the grpahics 1024x768 or 1280x1024 because running at 800x600 is putting more stress on the CPU than the graphics card

I ran BF2 at low settings and it sucked and I had terrible framerate, moved it up to normal high settings and the highest res and I was getting the normal 80+ FPS.
