OP I have been trying to read as much true info as I can find on the new GTX 4 series of video cards, what I have read is that if you want to run SLI with the GTX480's then water cooling is a must. Here is a good link for heat, sound and power usage

A lot of what I find on the net is written by ATI fan boys or worse Nvidia fan boys that did not wait for Fermi and now need to make them selves feel better about their choice in GPU's Good luck with your new build.
