Opty Setup Could do better ?

Thread Starter
First off I must say 'Great Community you have here, I'm very new to Overclocking & was almost glued to my PC a week or so ago when tytlf was helping blazin-asian with his opty setup (somewhat similar to my own).
Anyway i'm kinda stuck at ( & disappointed) 2.7GHz & my ram is @ 275 Mhz (haven't played with the vid card yet) . The memory controller can't be too bad as i'm stable (Prime +5 hrs) with 275 x4 LDT/FSB.
Anyway (dreaming perhaps) i think i could be running a ait quicker of both fronts ( the CPU & Ram)
now for the boring part #'s being used in DFIs Genie Bios:

FSB Frequency 275, LDT/FSB Frequency Ratio x4. LDT Bus Transfer Width 16/16, CPU/Fsb x10, PCI Express Frequency 100, CPU StartUp Value-StartUp (default), C-N-C Disabled, CPU Core voltage 1.46v, LDT Bus 1.33v, Chipset 1.65v, Dram 2.79, CPU Vid Control 1.40, Cpu Vid Special 104%, LDT Voltage Control 1,30v, ChipSet Voltage Control 1.60v, Dram Voltage Control 2.70v, ....
RAM Settings : 200 1:1, CPC (what the hell is that ? ) Auto, Tcl 2.5, Trcd 4, Tras 6, Trp 3, Trc 11, Trfc 13, Trrd, 3, Twr 3, Twtr 2, Trwt 2, Tref 3120, Dram Bank Interleave - Enabled, DQS Control - Auto, DQS Value-1, Dram Drive Strength - Auto, Dram Data Drive Strength - Auto, Max Async Latency - Auto, Dram ResponceTime - Fast, Preamble Read Time - Auto, Idle Cycle Limit - 256, Dynamic Counter - Disable, R/W Que Bypass 16x, By Pass Max - 4x, 32 Byte Gran' - Disable 4 Bursts.
After weeks or reading i think i've tightened up the basicRam settings some what, as you can see i'm not sure on the latter settings especially.
Any suggestions on tweaking this setup would be greatly appreciated. Like i said, I'm totally new to the OC obsession .... hehe, but can't wait to see what this thing is really capable of. So far Smart Guardian is saying CPU 39' @ 1.43v, PWMIC 34', ChipSet 43', LDT Bus 1.29v, Dram 2.75v.
Thanks for having a look see and as mentioned before any input would be appreciated ( hope sys specs are in my signature

Not real familiar with the DFI boards but the 275 x 4 might be pushing it since that is putting yourself 1100 HTT I would back that off to x3 I always thought the closer you pushed that to 1000 or a little above the better....WRONG....I read a major forum onsite about that....as well they mentioned that don't be a "WEENIE" about using dividers as it won't hamper that much difference when using one. They did tests with the LDT x1 -LDTx5 and surprising enough nothing changed on any benchmarks that they ran...even in normal everyday use lost nothing....as well they mentioned with the Divider will allow the memory to go farther with very little bandwidth lost...

Wish I could find that site now it was very informative...as they used the Opteron dual core as well as an AMD64 x2 3800+....If I can find it I will post it here....

Rgr agree with above. Cut the htt multi to 3x and use ram dividers.

Using lower cas and speeds on the ram is more useful than having looser timings and a higher fsb, unless its a huge difference. If you game the tighter timings could be a tad more useful.

well 300 x3 was stable with my ram @ 200 1:1 but my cpu flaked out, the board doesn't seem for fair too badly with the 1100 Mhz Fsb, prime stable for 5+ hrs, there should be a way to mix the 2, & yes without the FSB being a bit lower. Agreed. i read that the Asus boards were fine with 1200MHz FSB bus settings, not that that means Jack-S*. The CPU although the strongest componant in the mix is so far turning out to be the weakest so far. I know read & research some more ... 3 weeks & counting ... i know, you've all been there j/k, this thing has a good backbone, video could have been chosen better especially since it turned out to be the R430 core

sorry to revive this thread, but i noticed you were still trying for 3 ghz. right now i have my pc pretty stable at:

300 x 10 x 3(5:6 divider/mem at ~273 MHz)

your CABYE should be able to do 3 ghz easily. ive seen them at 3.1 even. try upping your voltage. i have mine at 1.55
