2500+ Xp Barton - Page 3

I recently OC'd my xp 2500 barton - 1.83 to an xp 3200 - 2.21
On my mobo the default is 166FSB with an 11.0x multiplier. All I did was bump up the FSB to an even 200, and set the vcore to 1.75.

Well it seems that with me it's my RAM that's limiting me. I mean, there's not problem bumping my FSB to 200 MHz, but I'll only do that if I plan to keep my CPU:RAM ratio at 1:1, therefore if I try to overclock using my FSB I'll want to up my RAM frequency too. you read what happened when I bumped my RAM to 400 MHz... yuckos. I've been told that I have to set my DDR Voltage to 2.7 then up my CAS latency to 3 to make it more stable, then I'll be able to set my RAM higher. Well, I tried that, then set my FSB to 200 MHz and my RAM to 400 MHz respectively... system doesn't boot. I'm forced to set my BIOS back to default (the 1.2 MHz) then set everything back to where I usually have it (1.8 MHz; 166 MHz X 11).

So right now I'm just going to keep it at a stable 166 MHz X 12 with a vcore of 1.5, and RAM speeds and timings of 333 MHz and 2.5 - 3 - 3 - 7. Atleast I'm gonna keep it like that until I get my new case and heatsink and learn more about how bloody RAM works lol.
