memory for an about to be released mb?

I am interested in getting a crossfire capable overclocking motherboard. I looked at the current asus a8r-mvp board but it has voltage problems and the current dfi LAN Party UT RDX200 CF-DR board has a couple of small problems. Mainly though they are both based on the rd480 chips and reference board that ATI came out with a while back. Now that the X1900xt video boards are being released there are supposed to be a new round of mb being released for the rd580 chips and manta reference board in feb or march. I am getting a x2 4800+ chip for the board but I was looking to see what memory would make good overclocking mem. SO, given the boards are brand new, what recommendations can be made for mem for overclocking, if any? I want to use 2Gb(2x1gb) stuff. Probably not interested in going over 300 for them and less if I could still get decent results. I am not out to break any records, just get a nice oc without water, at least not initially.

I have been searched around this board and anandtech for about 2 days trying to identify a good 2gb kit that i could have a good chance of overclocking but most references are for specific mb. The recommendations are usually based on someone's success with a particular memory on that board but since these are new boards i am looking for a best guess for either the asus or dfi boards probably the asus since it will most likely come out first. (i haven't been able to find any kind of time frame for the new DFI). All help appreciated.

i would wait for the newer chipset that support crossfire before i buy the board, havent heard the best things about the current crossfire boards.

Yes that is the rd580 chipset and manta reference board, i think. Supposed to be coming out in mid to late feb for asus; not sure about dfi. i guess the mushkin red 2gb kit would do the trick but i can't find any available.

well, it's hard to say what RAM you should get w/o knowing what mb you will be putting it in... as different boards will tend to like some RAM bettre than others.

in the meantime, I can say to take a look at this thread I posted a bit back it has a good roundup of 1gb modules and how they fair overclocking.

keep in mind that there maybe some better RAM out by the time the board actually comes out.
