Any suggestions? I was eying that hexa-core (either 2.8 with a good heatsink or 3.2 unlocked multi) And have also been looking at the GTX 470, along with the ATI 5850. Any suggestions? All help is greatly appretiated.

Parts NOT needed- Harddrive, monitor.
PS: I would like to keep this under $900

A hexacore system for under $900 seems a bit ludicrous.

Not to mention that a hexacore system for gaming is pointless.

Why not get a more reasonably priced and suited quad?

if your getting decent FPS in games i see no reason why you need to upgrade? a 940 is a rock solid quad core and a 5770 is a pretty dang good graphics card, if anything just add a second 5770, so long as your power supply is 600+ watts you have enough power

Your not going to be spending 900 if you want that.

Just get a quad and a gpu thats around 200 if u want a nice setup. Also get a nice overclocking board so you can save money in the future.

By the way on my setup i can run pretty much anything on high settings.

Dont forget sli!

Throw in some ram and your set, get the Hexacore when it actually helps.

To late the combo is sold out now.

Ok, so it seems I should get a quad core. I kind of want that GTX 470 though, or at least a 5850, I've never had a top of the line gpu and my 5770 struggle somewhat at my res of 1600x900, and this rig is going to a 1080p monitor. I wanted the hexa core because of BC2 though....

By the way are there any good, semi-recent AMD boards with nVidia chipsets? Or did Nvidia stop making them?

Out of curiosity, what games does your 5770 struggle at?

And do you mean < 60fps or worse?

I thought Nvidia was getting out of making chipsets.

Oh really? Thanks for the info. I wonder if they will let normal AMD boards SLI now.... Oh and by the way I was talking about games like Aliens vs Predator, BC2 etc. It runs them pretty well, just I would like to turn up the AA and what not. And just so everyone understands this, I am not upgrading, I am simply building another computer, and am donating this one to my dad/friends when they are over so we can both play. Once again thanks for all the info though.
