I believe Quadro is more for GFX development where as the 7800 GTX is for gaming.

They're completely different and are designed for different applications. The Quadro is capable of resolutions that the 7800 can't handle and is known for it's precision. They're often used for CAD design, surgical applications, etc while the 7800 is simply designed for gaming and fast rendering. It's like comparing a truck and a sports car. They're completely different.
