At 1.150V the card freaks out under load, regardless of the core and mem clock frequencies. Starting GPUTool causes the screen to go black, and eventually stops giving a signal, and the fan speed goes over 60% or so. I got through 25 stages of Heaven with 1.149V, but artifacted like crazy on the last stage. So far I am not happy.

I am in contact with MSI about these issues. Hopefully they get resolved. I may eventually flash the BIOS and try going from there. But for now, this card is not worth the $329 I spent.
Found this post from Patch about the Lightning: http://www.overclock.net/ati/696804-...ltage-fix.html

Seems like a similar issue.

criminal, thx for the fix, but this voltage control really sucks, mine previous card an assu, could get up to 1.4 V and with a voltage of 1.225 i could get 1ghz core and 1.2ghz on the mem, and this uses military grades components, and it crash when i go above 1.144 volt with 960 mhz on the core, now mine clocks are 950 mhz core and 1150 mhz mem with 1.144 volt, and why aren't there no heatsinks on the ram, is this not a problem for the heat, i alsow bought the 5770 hawk from msi, but that is just a backup card for worst case; and i could push it with 1.2v to an amezing 1ghz core and 1.4 ghz mem, but the 5850 has some bugs or afterburner, i hope they fixed this,

Criminal what are your core limits in ccc are those alsow limited like mine, because the 5770 hawk was unlocked, and it had a smaller twin frozr 2 cooler and is more quiet,

OP: Might want to have a look at your FC2 benchmarks.

One of them was run with Vsync OFF. Can you guess which one?? LoL

The same. I checked the stock bios with RBE and it is locked at 775/1125.

Yeah, I saw where you posted that. I have a feeling it is just a similar issue that a bios update would fix. Not really suggesting we should use the lightning bios.

please refrain from double posting, use the "Edit" button if you can please

common mistake, but nonetheless annoying when it makes my page too long for me to read on my iphone

Yes, I do see that now. My bad. I'm in the process redoing the Sapphire tests, so I'll change that one too.

I noticed that there is practically no airflow out the back of the card, thus making the nice cooler pointless to me. I'm gona try to solve this by making a cardboard shroud.
