Need to know never done it before i need to identical harddrives right?

Yes you need identical drives and raid o is used for faster loading times and file transfers. Raid 1 is more for security in case one of the drives fails you won't lose anything.

So raid 0 would give me better overall performance then is it hard to setup do i have to reinstall windows?

Yes and no...
Raid 0....2 same size hard drives combined. Space is combined and performance is boosted.
Raid 1....2 same size hard drives combined. Space is 1/2 of combined total of drives. Data is copied to both drives and is good for data security. No performance increase.
Using different size drives can be done...but it will show as 2 of whatever the smaller drive is and lose the extra space.

Its not that hard to setup. Yeah you'll have to reinstall your windows.

There should be a performance increase on read operations because the reads can be split across the multiple disks.
