Only improvement I can see worth changing is the CPU cooler. The CM Hyper 212+ or Scythe MUGEN 2 will provide very similar performance for substantially less.

Why not get the CM690 II? I believe it's around the same price and has more features. And I would change the CPU Cooler... the V8 costs around (or more) the same price as a Prolimatech Megahalems and Thermalright Venomous X, yet perform not as well.

EDIT: Or what Chunky_Chimp said

Switch the Cooler Master V8 for a Corsair H50, Prolimatech Megahalems, or Thermalright Venomous X.

What is your budget? If it is the $1200 you have there, I don't think you could do much else..

I guess you don't need a DVD drive (you don't have one listed)? I just wanted to point that out in case you forgot it.

Otherwise, everything looks fine, if you can stretch a little more, either get a second HDD for RAID 0, or if you can really stretch the budget, either get a second 5770, or swap it up to a 5850 ideally...

Personally i cant see the logic in getting an i7 then pairing it with a 5770

either get an i7/5870 or get a 955/5850, about the same budget between 955/5850 is with i7/5770

if your gaming that is, if you have specific things you NEED the i7 for, by all means...

You're buying a Sata III board but Sata II drive(s)? Why???? Why not exploit the new Sata interface?

Unless he gets a superfast SSD, even SATA1 wont be bottle necked by the connection for the harddive.

Max I think that HDD can acheive is about 120 mb/s, 120x8 = about 1000 mbit, SATA1 is 1500 mbit - 10% for overhead.

You can switch out the i7+5770 for i5+5850 for almost the same price and far more gaming performance. And 212/Scythe Mugen is plenty of cooling unless you plan on going past 4Ghz with the overclock.
