Yes, Oscar.... the O for Office, and Oscar being O on the phonetic alphabet...
The time has come.... Ordering draws near....
I am assisting in the replacement of my dad's office PC... This is a project, because it takes a project to convince him that an Athlon 2400+ and 512MB of RAM will slow him down....
The current build:

Emachines Computer Case
Emachines Stock PSU (cheap quality)
Emachines Motherboard (real brand unknown)
Athlon XP 2400+
512MB DDR 266 (2 x 256MB Generic)
Integrated S3 Unicrome Graphics (32MB Shared)
16x Lite-On DVD-ROM
52x Lite-On CD-RW
80GB Seagate HDD (replaced failed WD 80GB, not under warranty)

The Vision:

ENERMAX Pandora
A-Data 400W PSU (25Amps on +12v rail)
BIOSTAR NF325-A7
Athlon 64 3000+ Venice
PQI Turbo 1GB (upgradable to 2GB)
GeForce mx420 (from Dell) with Vantec cooler
Rosewill 12x DVD-RW
Lite-On DVD-ROM or CD-RW (from old emachines... haven't figured which would be best)
160GB Seagate

Total Price = $366.78 including FedEx Express Saver shipping

Dad is playing it out....

sounds good so far but why not just get a dvd-burner for $40? I mean you might have to sacrifice 52x cd burning for 48x but thats no big deal, try tiger direct and look up the name brand NEC it should be exactly $40

OK, I have the office PC built! Now he just needs to move his stuff over. He bought a Viewsonic LCD behind my back....: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824116363 but that's cool. Lol, now I want one. That monitor is just.... drool-worthy for the price. Now I need to see about getting the Dell replaced.
Beenchmarks may not be available for a while, well, benchmark.... I will only run pcmark 05 on it, because of the mx420.
The computer runs great, though. Mainly due to a fresh copy of Windows, that hasn't been updated.... lol. But it boots within 10-15 seconds from the time I press the power button... Nice RAM-CPU-HDD combo to work with.
If you have any questions/comments, go ahead and state them. I will have photos as soon as possible, camera's down.
