Remote Desktop Issues

Thread Starter 
"Your computer could not connect to another console session on the remote computer because you already have a console session in progress."

The most I can make out of this cryptic error message is that I can't use remote desktop because I'm already connected to the remote computer. However that is not the case because not windows remote desktop tasks are running on my computer. I have no idea what's wrong and some direction would be appreciated.

have you tried resetting the computer?

its possible that there is a session active, or at least that its SEEING an active session already RDC'd


you might also do an ipconfig /release & /renew

Task manager -> Services button -> stop then restart the services.

glad it helped, im fairly new to RDC myself and its been a bit of a learning curve, like since i do a hardwire to the same switch as my desktop from my laptop, if the wireless connection then connects to that router, it wont RDC lol, took me a while to figure that one out


its nice being able to do it though, i also have mapped my blu-ray and storage drives in my desktop for easy access in my laptop
