GTX 470 compared to GTX 295

Thread Starter
So, which is more powerful? I presume the 470 is, but does anyone have an idea of how they hold up against each other? Or even the 470 compared to the 275, 260, and 285?

The 295 wins by a good chunk. Thats a dual GPU card. The gtx 470 is right between a 5850 and a 5870.

2 GTX 260s perform better than a single 5870, and sometimes just a bit over a GTX 295, so there you go.

I don't see how that's possible since a GTX295 is literally two slightly underclocked GTX275's.

GTX470 is slower then GTX295 even though the number 470 is bigger then 295. Also GTX480 is on pair with GTX295 and sometimes a bit better. We dont know for sure now because we dont know how these cards overclock but if GTX470 can overclock like HD 5850 does then it would be faster then GTX295.

Agreed, due to lower price, single GPU, lower power consumption, and DX11 support. It's worth it.
