So, which is more powerful? I presume the 470 is, but does anyone have an idea of how they hold up against each other? Or even the 470 compared to the 275, 260, and 285?

I don't see how that's possible since a GTX295 is literally two slightly underclocked GTX275's.

GTX470 is slower then GTX295 even though the number 470 is bigger then 295. Also GTX480 is on pair with GTX295 and sometimes a bit better. We dont know for sure now because we dont know how these cards overclock but if GTX470 can overclock like HD 5850 does then it would be faster then GTX295.

Thats would be a HD 5850 because low power is not what GTX470 shines for a single GPU.

If you are going to be choosing between those cards then obviously you'll want to get the gtx470. Either that or a 5850.

what would you recommend someone who is looking to upgrade, either to a 470 or add another 275 and SLI?

I figure i could probably sell my 275 for somewhere between like 150-200, meaning a bump to the 470 would only be about another 200.

or I could find a 275 for somewhere between 150-200 and enjoy SLI??

another 275. 2x 275 is better than a 295 since they are clocked higher and oc higher, and if THAT beats a 470 then 2x275 will beat it more. Sweet card btw, evga gtx 275 sc ftw!!!! lol.

If a GTX 295 is a washed up card what are they running? Unless they're running some SLI 480s or 470s they are idiots.

Just sit down and relax with your GTX 295(x2 gpu). And take a look at 5870 maxxed out on DX10.

If your planning to buy get a 470 which is actually slightly slower that 295 but the min fps is way higher than 295 + dx11. Go 470

I know that, but he ask for it.
The top four card on the market on is
1)HD5970
2)GTX480
3)HD5870
4)GTX470
And I will ever say the Nvidia card sucks, because they make some of the best cards on the market today. But they are too high for my taste.
