I know these aren't meant for gaming, and the drivers aren't optimised for games, but I still would love to see this bench some games.

ATI cards carry a bed rep in a lot of 3D communities, not all probably justified.

This card makes sense for big firms who pay mega bucks for software licences. i.e. Catia - these people won't think twice about dropping $1,500 on a GPU when the software costs 10x that. Per year.

For individual users/small companies it has little to offer, a 5870 / GTX4x0 will deliver the same performance in most apps. -The SPEC viewperf 10 benchmarks are BS!

It will bench about the same as a 5870, it is the same GPU with a little more RAM.

I was thinking of the HD4K series. Also the fact that the manufacturers all use their ugly designs over the reference design.

Slim, but apparently ATI are taking over. Statisically, they've got a long, long way to go.

25% for workstation or high-performance computing?

These cards make sense for business in general since time is money. A day of downtime could cost a hundred of thousands or 1hr saved is a thousand made.

How is ATI taking over? Last I heard, NVIDIA is investing much more in support and development. Full C++ compability with full ECC is a big deal.

(I'm researching if my business is willing to buy a Fermi Telsa card. )
