As the title says, I have the Logitech z5300e 5.1 speakers hooked up to my SB Audigy 2 Value and I am really getting sick of my speakers. They sound downright awful IMO, infact whenever I need to surrender my computer when my bro needs to type stuff for school (I have openoffice.org 2.0 and he doesnt want to download it, lol) I actually let him mainly because then I get to go to his comp and listen to my music on his (actually my old) Klipsch Promedia 2.1's which sound so much better than my speakers, even though he has them hooked up to his onboard sound, the sub is just so much cleaner and tighter than the boomy one that came with my logitechs.

So, would the Logitech z5500's be a worthy upgrade for the price? I would be paying something like $250 for them on newegg + the $300 for the XFi because in addition to my speakers sucking, my Audigy 2 Value is kinda lame too, infact the XFi Crystallizer or whatever alone is worth it to me and yes if you didn't notice already I am a huge audiophile. Also, what do you guys think of the Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5.1's? They would seem like the obvious choice for me since I love my Klipsch 2.1's but I have read many reviews on the net about them failing after ~4 months and that is just plain silly.

EDIT/// I have heard the Logitech z5500's but 2 factors kept me from considering that a legit comparison, they are my friend's and he only had the sub at 3 out of like 10 volume and we were listening to techno songs that I had never heard of before so I had nothing to compare it to but they sounded pretty good at the very low volume, lol.

Have you ever tryed messing around with your speaker settings? like turning down the bass and upping the treble. I have an onboard soundcard but with 5.1 ghanz (german brand) speakers and my sound is fine. i just turn down the woofer and lower the bass and its perfect and i listen to loads of music.

for one, the fatal1ty X-Fi isn't worth the money IMO... the xtremeMusic will give you identical audio quality, but it just doesn't have the 64Mb of X-RAM... your call there though.

as for speakers, i love my z5500 set. bass is super strong, however it is very clear and smooth when you don't have the volume turned way up, and the speakers are really loud, but never have a distorted sound to them.

Any X-Fi along with z-5500 speakers will GREATLY improve your sound experience, so I greatly recommend that.

Ugh, my parents are being stupid about grades (got a C in English and a C in Biology) so I don't know when I'll be able to get the upgrade but I WILL get it eventually so keep giving me suggestions so when the time comes I'll know which to get, and thanks for the replies.

I have an idea, I have these $100 Altec Lansing speakers that I got for like $40 (thank you Froogle) so I am gonna upgrade those to my computer speakers and pray to god that my dad sees my logic and buys me the new Logitech z5500s and maybe the Fatal1ty too. Wish me luck, I can't seem to find the all important 2-3 stereo to 5.1 adapter I had that will allow me to hook the xBox and PS2 to my speakers!

No dice my parents are being total azzhats, my mom about my grades and my dad is just plain saying no lol what's up with that (Im sorry but NO ONE says no to me! lmao) so im pretty pissed off now since I dragged my whole speaker setup into my xbox room and set it up there only to bring it right back into this room lol. I think its the Monster Assault getting to my head because whenever I drink one of those in the morning I am really angry all day please continue to vote for your favorite speaker setup anyways, Im sure I can get it eventually.
