The Freezone coolit elite can take 200W of heat out of an object also it uses TEC cooling. This is allowing this device to achieve sub ambient temperatures on your cores when they are under load.
The Coolits not ordered yet, if anyone has a setup they would recommend that would include 2 5870's I would happily incorporate this.
I am using a Boreas (twice as powerful as a single FZE) to cool an i7 965. At stock frequency (3.2GHz), it gives about 20C above ambient temperature when under full load. With this as basis, if a single FZE is used to cool a hexa core i7 at 3.33GHz (assuming you are not overclocking yet), it will not yield sub ambient temperatures for the six cores.
In any way, a single FZE does not match the performance of an i7 980. I suggest you to consider at least a Boreas (order it directly from Coolit or from performancepc where it is selling with a good custom case).
