nVIDIA surround vision

Thread Starter
Well I want to do surround gaming on my three WUXGA monitors, and am trying to look into all my options. I know eyefinity is probably the best bet, but does anyone wanna explain nVIDIA surround vision?

Also, anyone know if it can run more than three monitors? Say I had tri-SLI GTX 260s, could I run 5 monitors like this?

Thx.

As you've imagined, a single card with Eyefinity is probably your best bet.

Assuming you've got at least one monitor with Displayport, you won't need any crazy adapters or anything like that either.

Well, actually my current problem is that I am going to get two more monitors, and need a way to run them all. My options are Powercolor eyefinity5 5770 and Tri- or Quad-fire, or the highly overpriced eyefinity6 5870.

As long as you have a Nvidia 2XX series card you can do 3D vision surround. This is what you are asking about right?

For Nvidia, you need to SLI in order to run three monitors. I would hold on until you see some benchmarks... Nvidia's solution is a software solution so we don't know how well it scales yet.

Also, you don't really need the Eyefinity edition 5870 to run 3 monitors.

See how it compares to the normal one? As long as you have adapters for the inputs, I would just go for the normal 5870.

But once you push bigger resolutions you will need another card right? why not go for 2 x 285's I am getting a fermi just for the DX11 and C++ suport
Anyone need a 480? http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/7086...ml#post9012062

I am gonna get two more monitors this summer, which will bring me to a total of five.

i guess my main question now is, can 3D vision surround support 5 monitors if I had Tri-SLI?

if you need 2xsli for 3 monitors it's only logical to need 4xsli right? IDK nothing is 100% right now...
