But you're off 60$ with that.
Anything extra?
I recommend sleeving from Nils @ http://en.mdpc-x.com/mdpc-sleeve.htm , it's expensive but really worth the looks
I'd say take a look around the mod section here, the 922 comes in gray inside, you might want to make it all black, looks nicer
If you don't want to take any of my over-priced/crazy ideas, I think you're pretty much set
hehe i got some mx300? mx500s? or something like that. from sony and the only problem i have with them is that they don't fit my ears so well or hurt after awhile. haha...ocn members always point things like this out xD

Good ideas actually. Usually when I go custom on things something usually breaks or takes a REAALLLY looooooOOOng time. Painting might not be a goooood idea. xD

Man, I would love to try out a SSD, but I think i'll wait on that. See how raid-0 wd blacks do. (raid-0 is where it saves the same info on both drives eh? increasing speed?).

haha, ya crazy timings indeed. did it give you better performance compared to having it at stocked timings at 1600?

Very much so. Makes hibernation and startup quick.

Sorry but overclocking the ram will not make start up and hibernation faster.
That is bottlenecked by your hard drive.
Hibernation take the current ram data and dumps all (say 8gb) memory onto the hard drive. To make your hibernation faster with a Hitachi desk star 500gb 7200rpms you will have to take some ram out so it writes less data to the hdd(say 6gb)

Start up will not be faster either because all of the files being read and processed and put into ram all originate from the hard drive. That is way fast SSD's make startup so much faster, & hibernate

would the timings play a huge factor?

No not at all.
Timings may make your ram a LITTLE bit faster.

But by no means will it be a difference you can see. You will hardly see the difference in benchmarks.

My advice is don't even mess with timings and voltages of the ram.
Downclock ram if you have to when overclocking and that is it.

Let the mobo set defaults. If that is unstable then set manufacturer voltages

Erm, when he said making the startups and hibernates faster, he meant RAIDing the HDD's... also, I heard somewhere you can't RAID WD drives? I'm probably wrong, but the fact is that Samsung F3's are faster, cheaper, and faster in RAID 500GB is the fastest (one platter) but the 1TB isn't too bad either!

You can raid WD drives, I have two in raid 0 running right now. The spinpoints are great drives though

You can raid any drive as long as your mobo supports it. As for F3 vs Black drives; they're pretty similar, I buy the Blacks since I'm kind of a WD fanboy...
