I just got my first SSD as well, a Corsair Nova 32GB. How do you like your Intel 40GB SSD? Coming from two 1TB F3s in RAID-0 the SSD cut my boot time almost in half (56 vs 30 seconds). It's actually fun just watching it boot since it's so fast.
Nice! Sounds like your liking your SSD as well. I love it, to be honest. Even though it has a very small capacity i'm using it mainly for booting. Like, all I have on start up (for the ssd) is windows, msn, skype, and just the bare necessities to run windows. And lol, me too, i love watching it boot up. Once it hits windows and says loading (just before the desktop), you barely have ANY time to read it, or just get a glimpse of it and then everything just pops up on the screen at once (besides msn). It's crazy awesome. xD

As for games, try to run them at native res, even if it means you're lowering the settings, the image quality is better as my previous experiments.
haha xD; you got 2 projects going? got links?
well so far the only game that doesn't support the native res was penumbra
but for every other game, i just don't know what to do. i'm so use to seeing frames drop under 60 and hover around the 30-40s at some points, now i just crank it to the max and it never drops under 60. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO....hahah im practically trying to get the rig to under-perform....plus i haven't overclocked it yet, still seeing if everything is stable.....stress tests working out fine tho (even tho ati tool did have a problem at first....must just because of it being so out of date -- maybe). i wonder what voltages i would need to get the quad to be stable? i was able to post just by unlocking....i wonder if thats a sign this is a lucky chip

maaaan, your current rig is so much better then what i was previously gaming on...the laptop. even the old gaming rig.
but it is awesome man. fully custom rig, but i did go overboard. with the hdds, ssd, psu, things like that, i could of easily went with less. but man ya, this is great, a 1950ish build....now just waiting on the headphones and sound card
and then it'll feel like a entirely different build again xD
thanks for the comments guys. haha, i can now finally join in with a bunch of the clubs and whatnot on here xD
