i forgot to put one big thing.... 6800gt oc to 400/1.13 stock cooling.. while 7800gs can go from 375 core/1.2 ghz mem to at the least 460 core/1.35ghz memory clock without any problems at all ! asi said earlier if your going from the 6800gt to a 7800gs go for it if you have 350+ dollars pocket change and money doesnt concern you .... but for most of us there really isnt any logicle reason to jump from here to there.. its just like.. jumping over a foot wide river... wow... so much further from my starting point... but from say a geforce2 400 etc.. to 7800gs... its like... going 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 miles from your starting point..

Indeed, some of the 6800 cards also run OpenGL2 and DirectX 9.0c Shader Model 3.0 and alot of 7800 features too! and with some overclocking, clock and memory speed can reach those of 7800 cards!

7800GS performs a fair amount better than the 6800GT actually, even though they have the same amount of pipelines. It has something to do with:
1. Much higher clocks
2. Core architecture
Since the 7800GS's core architecture is newer, it is more optomized, and performs better than the 6800GT. The 7800GS also OC's like crazy (not quite as good as the 6800GS PCI-E, but still) even with the stock cooler, just imagine OCing it with a VF700-Cu, or a Maze4!!
Edit: And no, no 6800 AGP can even touch (OC) the 7800GS's OCed speeds. The 7800GS will run a LOT faster than AGP 6800GT's, and even PCI-E 6800GT's that OC a lot better than ther AGP counterparts.

I think that AGP's time is getting soon over since you can get the same cards with pci-e but much cheaper and with higher core and memory speeds! Maybe AGR slots will build its way up since they are 64bit compatible.
