GTX 400 Overclocking/Modding Thread - Page 44

Guys I would like to mention if you are getting crap overclocking with seriously HIGH temperatures you may want to check your heat sink and ihs. The stock TIM job can pretty much cover this up since its globbed on so heavily.

I apply my tim across the entire IHS in an even thin layer and as you can tell there is no contact that is stretching across to the center of the die.

Have you done a razer blade test to verify if it's the IHS or sink that is curved to much?

A little bit of both, but it's the IHS. The temps are higher than my other 480's even on water. I'm going to delid this thing instead of wasting time on lapping. I'm kinda curious to see what the actual die looks like anyways.

This is a .987vid one as well so thats why I'm so gun ho on keeping it.

Great...Failed flash now im buggered. Backup bios corrupt...not good.

So basically I need to blindflash which goes fine up to the point where its obviously asking me to confirm by typing ''YES'' ( hit enter ) then ''Y'' then ''YES'' ( Hit enter ) again as I was taking note with my first flash just incase all went wrong.

I am using a stock EVGA bios from this thread..I leave it time to flash ( I think its flashing ) restart PC and still a blank screen...bollocks...what am I doing wrong here ? anyone got a automated batch flash I could use ?

How do you always do this

So what are you flashing, same bios just modded, or a different vendor bios?

I firstly tried your modded BIOS for the 470...FLASHED fine...but after restart...nothing. So now I am simply trying to blind flash a stock BIOS onto it using the commands on the OP with NVFLASH in dos. Now I input the commands and here a bleep ( I think where its throwing up ID mismatch ) I input ''YES'' then ''y'' then ''yes'' again...but nothing seems to happen...I leave it restart and still nothing..so I am wondering if there is an automated batch flash for emergencies..I followed everything by the book and the flash went fine the first time but now this...
