GTX 400 Overclocking/Modding Thread - Page 56

I don't really want to deal with NVFlash. And according to the link, the steps for Vista 64 (assuming it's similar for W7 64) don't seem to result in a simpler process for SLI anyway.

But I take it that you can't use HDTuner to flash cards in SLI then? What if I just plugged in one card at a time?

What if I use NVFlash to flash from flash drive during bootup, can I choose which card to flash manually?

Basically I want a way to do this without switching my cards in their slots. They're water cooled and it's too much of a hassle to bleed the system just for this.

Yes, that's why I suggested NVflash

Use the --index command

Like so...
For GPU1:
nvflash --index=1 -4 -5 -6 BIOS.rom

For GPU2:
nvflash --index=2 -4 -5 -6 BIOS.rom

Remember to backup your BIOS before flashing a new one.
nvflash --index=1 -b backupcard1.rom

Thank you Pizzaman, have a drink on me
I will make a donation, small cost for as much as I have used NIBITOR in the past

(edit)
After doing a bit of research I have discovered that NIBITOR v5.6 does work on the GTX 400 series
but it reads the BIOS in a different way, here is some light reading from MVtech

I have opened my BOIS via a GPUz dump and found core speeds and voltages but it is not as easy as it was with my old 7950GT

That worked, thanks.

(Only in my case, there was no identifiable card using "index=2". I guessed that the cards were actually named "0" and "1" and that turned out to be right.)

Quick question:
On EVGA's OC Scanner when I am stability testing should I leave all the settings at default [except obviously turn on "enable scanner]? Or should I change things to be more thorough?

OK, so I got EVGA's e-leet program and it allows me to up the volts to 1.375 or 1.395 I don't remember. I tried 1.3v with 950/1900/2200. I was able to play COD W@W for 1 hour but when folding it crashes.
I did not use a modded bios.
I only seem to get stable at 850/1700/2200.

Do I need the unlocked bios?
Any suggestions on settings and volts?

My temps were maxed out at 45c, yes on water. GPU is in sig.

I would use GPU-Z (actually a multimeter would be best), and see if you are really getting that 1.3v. AFAIK overvolt protection would shut the card down, but I'm not the best source for that kinda thing. I have been able to get 1.21v using e-leet, but nothing higher.
