HIS Excalibur ATI Radeon X800 GTO ICEQII TURBO 256MB GDDR3 TV-Out/DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (RX800GTO-256ICEQT) (GX-044-HT)
The HIS X800 series produces frame rates that surpass all previous graphic processors. Based on a radically new architecture, ATI has combined the latest semiconductor manufacturing process with ultra-fast and efficient memory to produce extreme data rates and unbelievable acceleration in a quiet and cool single-slot solution. The result is an incredibly smooth and responsive high-definition gaming experience. The HIS X800 series features SMARTSHADER™ HD, the most advanced pixel shader engine ever offered. With up to 16 parallel pixel pipelines, 6 programmable vertex shader pipelines and an overall capability of up to 200 GigaFLOPS, the HIS X800 series delivers the most advanced high-definition 3D animation for the ultimate intense and interactive game play. The HIS X800 series also offers unparalleled DirectX® 9.0 and OpenGL® shader support to ensure current and upcoming games look and play brilliantly, especially in high-definition. With VIDEOSHADER™ HD, the HIS X800 series takes advantage of its advanced shader processing engine for user programmable video effects, video quality enhancement, and encoding and decoding of many video standards, including MPEG1/2/4, Real Media, DivX and WMV9. The HIS X800 series also supports the latest high-definition and widedisplay formats, giving users bigger and more vivid movie, gaming and Internet experiences. The IceQ cooling system draws cool air from inside the case and exhausts warm air outwards. This prevents the fan from recycling warm air to cool the VPU, which increases cooling performance and lower the air temperature inside the case significantly. HIS iTURBO easy to use interface provides a flexibility way for users to adjust the VPU clock, memory clock and fan speed, with the features of VPU temperature and fan speed monitoring.

PowerColor ATI Radeon X800 GTO16 256MB GDDR3 TV-Out/DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-055-PC)
Merging the blistering frame-rates of the enthusiast realm with the frugality of the mainstream is where the perfect blend of Hybrid lies, the next generation PowerColor RADEON X800 GTO16! Built upon industry acclaimed tech and tweaked to perfection is the moniker of any PowerColor product and the X800 GTO16 does not disappoint with it is 16 Pixel Pipelines and 256MB of onboard GDDR3 memory while utilizing a 256-bit memory interface. The only limit to the power you wield is your imagination and the hardware in your PC! Push your PC’s performance threshold and realize the true potential of PCI-Express and the PowerColor RADEON X800 GTO16!

- ATI Radeon R480 Core as used in X850 XT Platinum graphics card
- 400MHz GPU Clock Speed (Highly overclockable)
- 256MB 980MHz GDDR3 memory accelerates the latest cutting edge 3D applications (Highly overclockable)
- 256-bit quad-channel GDDR3 memory interface
- Sixteen pixel pipelines
- Six programmable vertex shader pipelines

the main diferences is that one has a slightly faster clock 500/1000 over 400/980
and one blows gpu heat out of the pc case, while the other one is standard.

the his brand one has 12 pipelines while the power colour has 16 pipelines other than these they are roughly the same. im going to over clock the one i get as much as power as well as overclocking my cpu-thinking of either a big typhoon or a zalman 9500.

Go with the Powercolor. Overall their cards are usually better. If you can squeeze it into your budget, a Sapphire x800gto2 would be the best bet, it's basically guarunteed to unlock to a x850xt, sometimes x850xtpe.

But if only the 2 x800gto's are your options, go with the Powercolor.

The Sapphire GTO2 is GUARUNTEED to unlock to 16 pipes, they've even started marketing it as a 16 pipe card. The clock speeds won't be guarunteed to OC to x80xtpe, but they should go to x850xt speeds most likely.

Also, even if the Powercolor x800gto does use the r430 core, and the HIS one uses the r480, the extra pipelines on the powercolor will make your card better than the extra little bit of core speed OC will.

im def gonna get a sapphire 800gto2 then and unlock the pipelines to 16 and overclock to 500+/500+

p.s im almost ready to order my new computer but have one more question.

i know this is off the subject but which is the better one to over a 3.4 prescott to 4ghz a ga-8n-sli or a 8I945P-G-i dont need the sli part of the mother board as im getting a gto2 but which mother is overall better to overclock my prescott to 4ghz-im also getting a 9500 zalman to cool the hot prescott does anyone know if this is compatable with the motherboard?

Well, HIS is the best looking, that is what counts

I've been told they are quite good at cooling also.
I'm thinking of buying one of these: HIS Excalibur ATI Radeon X800 GTO ICEQII TURBO 256MB GDDR3 PCI-E, as Staffmania choosed between. It's goodlooking and a great card I surpose!
