pretty much make it so u have a higher fps (like optimizing windows adn firefox to make it faster)

Oh, I know about cs 1.6, but I don't think those commands will work in cs:s.

Valve already released a patch like that sometime last year so if you already DLed it and haven't seen any progress then thats it. Bet you can play regular cs on that rig tho

A patch? Elabourate, as far as I know, steam automatically updates CSS with all updates and patches correct?

You should always tone down your graphics. Look here for some comparisons between graphic levels: http://www.tweakguides.com/HL2_6.html

It's made for Half-Life 2, but if you think about it, they both use similar setups of their settings.
