Guys i'm having trouble with my gtx 460 and drivers. When I turn on my pc, i get to the log in screen, i type in my password and then it completely freeze, the loading circle on the mouse stops spinning and my keyboard and mouse become useless.

At first i thought it was one of my mobo's drivers but no i installed drivers one by one (restarting my pc after every install) and it crashed when i installed the latest driver for my gtx 460. So i uninstalled the latest gtx 460 drivers and it worked fine again.

next i tried installing the drivers on the disk that came with the card, again it crashed and well i know its my videocards drivers but idk what to do to fix it.

Whats weird is that before i ever installed the latest drivers, when i boot my pc for the first time it was working fine and i was using at at 1080p res but now when i dont do the driver update i cant go past 1280x1024. the only way to get a bigger res is by updating my drivers but then it crashes. Guys help please!

Sometimes on certain BIOS settings the need to be set manually, especially your DRAM voltages and timings as an example. My Ram by default cause my system to have issues upon loading of Windows. I'm not saying the Ram timings are causing you issue, but perhaps there is one setting that might be. Are you sure you didn't accidentally downlord 32-bit drivers?

Did you run a cleaning program to wipeout the older entries in the registory? This can happen when upgrading a graphics card that was different from the one installed when you installed Windows 7. I think it's time to possibly RMA the card since it's clearly unstable with the drivers installed, or at least contact Nvidia about this problem!

Go and download Driver Sweeper and then boot into safe mode and uninstall your graphics drivers and use Driver sweeper to clean the old ones. Restart your computer and go back into safe mode and do it again. Then restart your computer go into windows and install the latest drivers and see if the problem persists. If it does then RMA the card.
